Research into areas of film making. Production.

Production can be broken up into three ways in which film is produced.

  • The first one  -- pre-production, this stage consists of planning, scriptwriting.
  • The second is the production. A time when the film been shot
  • Third and the last is post-production. It is mainly a time for editing.

Production is one of the most important areas of film making. It is all because it is a time when the film is actually made. So, the product is being as a part of this film making area.

When you are involved in production you can do many things, such as (in no particular order) :
  1. editing
  2. directing
  3. scriptwriting
  4. costume designer
  5. sound specialist
  6. lighting director
  7. location manager
  8. hair and makeup specialist
All examples below are from the film ' Titanic ' 1997.

Director and writer: James Cameron
Top-billed cast: Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet, Billy Zane, Kathy Bates.
Studio: 20th Century Fox

One of the examples of pre-production:

Before filming a crew visited the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean twelve times in 1995.

Titanic was filmed in five places, this included: Dartmouth, Mexico, Fox Baja Studious in Rosarito (Mexico), and Nova Scotia.

It took about four and a half months to fully edit Titanic, it was edited by James Cameron, Richard A. Harris, Conrad Buff IV.
